Aderoju Adepoju Profile
Aderoju Adepoju is a Yoruba language expert of immense repute. He is a translator, interpreter, communicator, teacher, Master of Ceremony, film script writer and author.

Aderoju started acting in primary school at Igboora Methodist Primary School, Oke Agogo Igboora, Oyo State. While at Igboora High School, he was a member of the cast of the plays “Incorruptible Judge” and “Julius Ceasar”. During his years at the University of Lagos, he was a member of the Lagos University Musical Society (LUMS) and was amongst the cast of a cultural and historical drama presentation, “Lisabi Agbongbo Akala”. LUMS later metamorphosed into the Centre for Cultural Studies, University of Lagos.

Aderoju Adepoju went back to the University of Lagos for a Masters degree and upon completion joined the teaching staff in the department of African Language and Literatures.
He also went into film script writing culminating into such film scripts as “Owoblow”, “Jenrola”, “Ipin”, “Guluso”, “O se e gbe”, “Before Beyond”, and recorded song scripts as “Anumo”, “Ikilo”, “Gb’ede L’aruge”, Awon Ofin Mewaa” and Gbegede Gbina”.
During his time at Radio Lagos, he was a presenter, news translator and reader for more than 31 years. Aderoju wrote more than 80% of the jingle scripts for Radio Lagos, Eko FM and Lagos Traffic Radio.
He was also a member of the teaching staff at Radio Lagos Language Institute that churned out most of the voices of repute on many radio stations today. He later became the Rector of the Institute when he became the General Manager Radio Lagos/Eko FM.
Aderoju was actively involved in the establishment of the Lagos Institute of Language and Communication (LILAC).

He later became the first General Manager of Mainland 98.3 FM Anthony Lagos where he still reads Yoruba news on weekdays and presents musical programmes every Saturday.
Aside these engagements, he also presents a two-hour talk-show on Miliki 101.3 FM and continues his half hour story telling programme he conceived during his first visit to New York in 2004 which still runs on Radio Lagos 107.5 FM till date.
Aderoju is an alumnus of the National African Language Resource Center, University of Wisconsin, Madison at Indiana University, Bloomington, U.S.A.
